Marlin 39 Carbine – .22 S/L/LR – 1964 – JM Stamp – ¾ Length Mag Tube – RARE
This is a no reserve penny auction for a Marlin 39 Carbine lever action rifle in .22 S/L/LR. Serial number – Z16935. This 39 Carbine is in good condition and is equipped with a 20¼" micro groove barrel with a ¾ length magazine tube, and an excellent bore. A "JM" stamp is on the barrel showing it was manufactured by the original Marlin team. The "Z" prefix indicates a manufacture date of 1964.
Only approx. 9,695 were manufactured from about 1963-'67 making these highly desirable! The Model 39 Carbine is a slimmer lighter version of Model 39A. Features slimmer fore-end and thinner barrel. The Marlin 39 represents the oldest and longest continuously produced shoulder firearm in the world. The model 39 is still considered one of the finest examples of a lever .22 rifle, and one of the most accurate .22 rifles ever produced.
