This is a no reserve penny auction for an Uberti Model 1866 Yellow Boy Sporting lever-action rifle chambered in .38 Special. Serial number- 85989. This rifle is in good condition with a great bore. The Model 1866 rifle, known as the Improved Henry, had a loading gate on the side and a wood forearm. It was nicknamed the Yellow Boy and was the first lever-action rifle for cowboys. The lever gun model remained popular despite newer, stronger models introduced later.
Called the Yellowboy for its shiny brass frame, forend stock endcap and butt plate, the 1866’s distinctive and handsome appearance made it highly desired.
