For sale is a Colt 1911 US Property semi automatic pistol in .45 ACP. Serial number- 563672. This 1911 is in good condition and comes with one magazine. Originally manufactured in 1918, this 1911 has a very interesting history. This 1911 was first manufactured as a WWI era sidearm, the pistol was then inspected during WWII by Frank Krack at Rock Island Arsenal. Features "FK" and "RIA" stamps to reflect this. Frank Krack was Assistant Foreman of the Inspection Division at RIA from September 17, 1941 until he retired on July 19th, 1946. During that period all small arms inspected under his supervision would be stamped with his initials "FK" as well as those of the Rock Island Arsenal "RIA". From there we believe the 1911 was sent to the UK as a lend-lease and was again inspected at the Birmingham Proof House in 1951 to be sold commercially after the war. Has a "crowned BNP" stamp and a 1951 "B" stamp to reflect this.
