For sale is a Colt M1911A1 semi-automatic pistol in .45 ACP. Serial number – 779287. MFG. 1942. This is a genuine World War II-era Colt 1911 and is in fantastic condition considering its age. It comes with an extra set of Franzite grips, a canvas double-magazine holster, (4) 7-round magazines. Two of the magazines have a K stamp on the toe but they are most likely aftermarket magazines. The inspector stamp of W.B. is for Colonel Waldemar S. Broberg is on the left side of the frame above the trigger. He was the Army Inspector of Ordnance from July 1st, 1941 to June 16th, 1942 in the Hartford/Springfield Ordnance District. The creation of legendary firearms designer John Browning, the Model 1911 was the standard-issue sidearm of the United States military starting in 1911, served through WWI WWII, the Korean War, and Vietnam War until it was replaced in 1986. Some US Special Forces still use them today. World War II 1911s are highly sought after this is an opportunity to own one that is in awesome condition!
