Colt Python – .357 Mag

Colt Python – .357 Mag

$3,999.00

For sale is a Colt Python double-action revolver in .357 Mag. Serial number – 8012. Mfg Dated: 1959. This revolver is in good condition but there is some finish wear and one of the wooden grips is cracked. This is an example of a desireable early production Python. In the first five years of production, Colt made less than 10000 Pythons. This revolver was manufactured in 1959. The timing is great and lockup is tight. The double-action is extremely smooth and the trigger pull on the single action is very light, causing us to believe this revolver received a custom trigger job. It also has a trigger widener.

Built on Colt’s large I-frame. Pythons have a reputation for accuracy, smooth trigger pull, and a tight cylinder lock-up. Some firearm collectors and writers such as Jeff Cooper, Ian V. Hogg, Chuck Hawks, Leroy Thompson, Scott Wolber, Renee Smeets, and Martin Dougherty have described the Python as the finest production revolver ever made.
