Early Erfurt Imperial Luger 1913 Military WWI – 9mm – Unit Markings

Early Erfurt Imperial Luger 1913 Military WWI – 9mm – Unit Markings

$4,999.00

For sale is an Erfurt Imperial Military 1913 Luger semi-automatic pistol in 9mm. Serial number – 1423. Mfg Date 1913. This pistol includes a period-correct spare magazine made by DWM or Erfurt. All SNS on the pistol are matching, but the Sn on the mag is not matching. This is a 1913 dated Imperial Luger manufactured by the Royal Arsenal at Erfurt. The 1913 Chamber date is the first year of production by Erfurt and does not contain a prefix! Military Lugers were numbered 1-10000 and then 1a-10000a, 1b-1000b, and so on. This means this is an extremely early production Erfurt Luger.

This is a 9mm Parabellum with a 100mm barrel. Just like it came from the battlefield of WWI. The right side of the receiver displays all the Imperial Army acceptance stamps. Erfurt's were always very heavily proofed; a delight to study. The Erfurt's are the most proofed models of Parabellum. There are inspector marks all over the weapon in a variety of crowed stamps. Proof marks are mostly well-struck and clearly visible. Serial numbers are everywhere.

There is also a unit marking on the front strap of the pistol indicating it was issued to a Machine Gunner inf 108th Württemberg Infantry Regiment. They fought throughout the Western Front including the 3rd and 4th Battles of Ypres/Flanders.

This is an excellent example of the hard-to-find Pre-War 1913 dated Erfurt Imperial Parabellum and built by the Royal Erfurt Arsenal for the Imperial Army. This would make a great addition for any collector!
