Iver Johnson Skeet-er – 20 Gauge

Iver Johnson Skeet-er – 20 Gauge

$3,499.00

For sale is an Iver Johnson Skeet-er side-by-side shotgun in 20 Gauge. Serial number- S3742E. This shotgun is in good condition and features a boxlock action, forged barrel and lug, a high grade hand checkered American black walnut stock, ejectors, double triggers, 2 3/4" chamber, and a 14" length of pull. As shown in the photos, the right barrel is marked "C" for choke, and the left is marked "O" for open. This was common as many Skeet-ers were set up to fire the choked barrel at an outgoing target and the open barrel was fired at an incoming target. This shotgun also retains its original Iver Johnson butt plate and pistol grip cap. Iver Johnson produced the Skeeter from 1927 to 1941 with instant success. The company, more known for its utilitarian revolvers and single shot shotguns, had outdone themselves with the fancy American black walnut stocks and overall fit and finish of the model.

Please note, a very minor/shallow crack is seen on the right side of the stock where it meets the receiver. In addition, the left ejector is worn to the point to where a shell can be inserted and with enough force be pushed directly into the bore. The ejector is still functional, but will most likely need to be replaced for 100% reliability.
