Up for grabs is a Savage Model Model 1899 lever-action rifle in .250-3000 Savage. Serial number – 169832. Mfg Dated 1915. This rifle is in good condition considering it had over 100 years to accumulate dings, scratches, and wear. However, there is a couple of cracks on top of the stock, where the stock meets the receiver. A chip is missing on the wood foregrip on the right side and the bore is in good condition, it has some pitting but the rifling very clear. The barrel is 22 inches long. Manufactured from 1914 to 1921 in the 145500 to 237500 serial number range, these Model 1899 rifles were developed to introduce the Charles Newton designed .250-3000 Savage cartridge. Fitted with a 22" featherweight takedown barrel, unique checkered trigger, and uncheckered pistol grip perch belly stock. Pinned beaded blade front and Savage adjustable rear sights on the barrel with the two-line address/patent date marking ahead of the rear sight and two-line hi-pressure steel/model marking and "250-3000 SAVAGE" on the left barrel side. Cocking indicator, upper tang tapped for sight mounting, and jeweled bolt. Fancy checkering on the Schnabel forearm with a smooth buttstock featuring a hard rubber grip cap and serrated steel buttplate stamped with the Savage Indian logo.
