Sig Sauer P227 – Pennsylvania State Police Issued – .45 ACP

$1,099.00

For sale is a Sig Sauer P227 semi-automatic pistol in .45 ACP. Serial number- P5P04154. This P227 is in great condition and comes with three 10-round magazines. Features a decocker and has "Pennsylvania State Police" lasered on the slide. The P227 is similar in many ways to the P220 in .45 ACP that SIG Sauer introduced in 1975. It uses the same SIG Sauer designed short recoil locking system with their Single/Double Action trigger. The P220 is a full sized large pistol. The P227 uses a double row magazine for increased ammunition capacity and is very slightly larger to the point that it is not very noticeable. The Pennsylvania State Police conducted extensive testing of several .45-caliber handguns from a number of manufacturers, including Sig Sauer. At the conclusion of the testing, the agency selected the P227 for all its members. "For decades, the Classic series handguns have been a dependable partner to tens of thousands of law enforcement officers," Tom Jankiewicz, Executive Director, Law Enforcement Sales for Sig Sauer, Inc., said in a release. "The P227 continues that legacy with its combination of greater capacity and larger caliber." The contract called for more than 5,000 pistols to be delivered before the end of 2014.
