Smith & Wesson 2nd Model 1902 Military & Police – .38 S&W SPL –
$999.00
For sale is a Smith & Wesson 2nd Model 1902 revolver in .38 S&W Special CTG. Serial number- 76025. This Model 1902 is in good condition for its age and features wooden S&W grips and a 6.5" barrel with an excellent bore. Also features a 5 screw frame. This is an early S&W revolver marked "38 S&W Special U.S. Service CTG'S" on the side of the barrel with patent dates on the top of the barrel. In 1902, the .38 Military & Police (2nd Model) was introduced and featured substantial changes. These included major modification and simplification of the internal lockwork and the addition of a locking underlug on the barrel to engage the previously free-standing ejector rod. Barrel lengths were 4-, 5-, 6-, and 6.5-inches with a rounded butt. Most of the early M&P revolvers chambered in .38 Special appear to have been sold to the civilian market. By 1904, S&W was offering the .38 M&P with a rounded or square butt, and 4-, 5-, and 6.5-inch barrels.
Please refer to the photos as there is some wear across the finish and a named carved into the inside of one of the grips. We also took pictures of all the stamps present on this revolver. V2-J4 Barrel Length: 6.5 Bore condition: Excellent
