Springfield Armory’s XD-E has an external hammer, double action / single action (DA/SA) operation, red fiber optic front sight post, dovetail white dot rear sights, and ambidextrous thumb safety/de-cocker. The 1911-style grip angle and "point and shoot" ergonomics make this XD-E uniquely shooter-friendly. The XD-E, named after the external hammer, was introduced in 2017.
