CLEAN Winchester 1866 Yellowboy Saddle Ring Carbine – .44 Henry RF – SRC -C

This is a no reserve penny auction for a Winchester 1866 Yellowboy Saddle Ring Carbine lever-action rifle in .44 Henry RF. Serial number – 83854F. This rifle is in great overall condition for its age with a good bore. After running a serial number lookup, we've determined that this rifle was manufactured in late 1871. Features include a 20" barrel, saddle ring, and folding rear sight. Given the serial number, we believe this particular rifle is a 3rd Model production. It includes a presentation case, and Hold Up display hooks. Given the bolt design, it appears this rifle is still chambered in .44 Henry RF, and has not been converted to centerfire.

The first Winchester rifle – the Winchester Model 1866. Nicknamed the "Yellow Boy" because of its receiver of a bronze/brass alloy called gunmetal, it was famous for its rugged construction and lever-action "repeating rifle" mechanism that allowed the user to fire a number of shots before having to reload. Nelson King's improved patent remedied flaws in the Henry rifle by incorporating a loading gate on the side of the frame and integrating a round, sealed magazine which was partially covered by a forend.

Please refer to the photos as a small hairline crack is seen on the right side of the forend.
