The Colt 1911 Government Model Tier III 100th Anniversary (.45 ACP) is a collectible WWI-era reproduction featuring a rough, near-black "Black Army" finish and custom commemorative rollmarks – "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" – "MODEL 1911-2011" – "ADOPTED MARCH 29, 1911 – UNITED STATES ARMY"

Built as part of Colt's 1911-2011 Centennial celebration, modeled after the 1918 configuration. Manufactured in 2013. The "Tier" system refers to the three distinct trim and rarity levels Colt released for its 1911–2011 Centennial Celebration:

Tier I – Custom Shop / Master Engraved High-polish Royal Blue finish, elaborate hand-engraving, and 24-karat gold-inlaid scrollwork. Extremely rare (typically limited to ~100 units).

Tier II – Special Edition / Presentation High-polish blue surfaces, smooth select-wood grips, and stylized scroll engraving with gold highlights. Limited to 750 pistols.

Tier III – Historical GI Reproduction (This Model)Rough "Black Army" matte black oxide finish, checkered walnut double-diamond grips, and period-correct 1918 frame specs (no finger relief cuts, straight mainspring housing). Production limited by a specific order window (roughly 7,200 produced).
