Colt M1911 Government Model Mil/Comm Conversion – .45 ACP – MFG 1946 – 1911
This is a no reserve penny auction for a Colt M1911 Government Model semi-automatic pistol in .45 ACP. Serial number- C221752. This M1911A1 is in good condition with an excellent bore and comes with aftermarket target sights. Based on serial records this pistol was manufactured in 1946.
Following WWII, Colt transitioned back to producing commercial Govt. Model pistols. It took more than one year before the first pistols were assembled in October 1946. The first 2000 pistols were assembled using surplus military parts from the last military M1911A1 pistols Colt ever produced in 1945. This is one of those pistols.
It has the Military/Commercial transfer slide with both military and commercial slide slide markings.
Please note the grip safety on this firearm is non functional, and the original sights, barrel bushing, guide rod, and grips have been replaced.
