Colt Python – .357 Mag – Mfg 1962 – Low Serial! – Snake Gun – 6 IN BBL

This is a no reserve penny auction for a Colt Python double-action revolver in .357 Magnum. Serial number – 22344. Mfg Dated: 1962. This revolver is in excellent condition for a 60-year-old revolver. There are some micro scratches but finding an early Python in this good condition is extremely rare. In the first five years of production, Colt made less than 10000 Pythons before ramping up production and by 1962 they had doubled the number of Pythons they had produced. This revolver was manufactured in 1962. The timing is great and lockup is tight. The double-action is extremely smooth in classic Python fashion.

Built on Colt’s large I-frame. Pythons have a reputation for accuracy, smooth trigger pull, and a tight cylinder lock-up. Some firearm collectors and writers such as Jeff Cooper, Ian V. Hogg, Chuck Hawks, Leroy Thompson, Scott Wolber, Renee Smeets, and Martin Dougherty have described the Python as the finest production revolver ever made.
