EXREMELY RARE 1 of 250 TRW Browning BLR – .243 Win – 1966 USA Prototype

This is a no reserve penny auction for a Browning BLR lever-action rifle in .243 Winchester. Serial number – 6K02059. This Browning Lever Action rifle is in Amazing condition with an Excellent bore and comes with a detachable box magazine.

Initial production of BLR rifles took place in 1966 at the Thompson Ramo Woolridge, Inc. (TRW) facility in Cleveland, Ohio. From 1966 until 1968, TRW produced some 250 BLR rifles, but only 50 were sold to the public. Some of those early prototypes were destroyed, while others were shipped to Fabrique National (FN) in Herstal, Belgium, where production of BLR rifles resumed in 1970 for a 1971 release. This rifle is one of the scarce 250 units.

BLR rifles utilize a geared lever and bolt design that accommodates modern high-pressure rounds. The trigger moves with the lever when it is cycled, preventing the trigger finger from being pinched when the lever is closed. A detachable box magazine allows the use of pointed-tipped bullets, greatly increasing range, compared to traditional lever-actions with tubular magazines.

Note: There are some surface blemishes and scratches to the woodwork. Please see the photos to assess the condition of the rifle for yourself.
