Ferlach Combo Shotgun Rifle – 6.5X58R & 16 Gauge – Engraved! – Rare!
This is a no reserve penny auction for a Ferlach Combo Shotgun Rifle. Serial number- 281327. This Ferlach Combo gun made by Josef Orasche, in the famous Austrian city of Ferlach, is in good overall condition. The bores look good for the rifle's age, and there appears to be no rust. The action functions fine and the gun locks up tight. Apart from a crack in the forearm, this gun is solid! It's an over-under, featuring a 16 gauge shotgun and a rifle chambered in 6.5x58R. The shotgun chamber is 2 3/4" and we believe the choke is 'FULL'. This gun is covered in finely engraved scroll with chiseled game scenes in relief, including a stag, rabbit, and pronghorn. The barrels are engraved "Bohler Stahl Special". This rare collectible firearm features external hammers, dual triggers, barrel rib, cheek comb, dual flip-up rear sights, front bead sight, and sling swivels. The rifle bore lands are distinct but not sharp and the grooves have some frosting. Known for their gunsmiths, in a legacy going back to 1518, Ferlach guns have been the pride of any collection for centuries. This unique and classic style combo gun would be a great add to any serious collector. Please Note: it appears there may have originally been some kind of adjustable rear sight on this rifle that is now missing.
