FN Auto 5 – 12 Gauge – Belgian A5 – Browning Round Knob & Vent Rib + Case C

This is a no reserve penny auction for an FN Auto 5 semi-automatic shotgun in 12 Gauge. Serial number – 6632707. This shotgun is in great condition for its age with an excellent bore. Features include a 27.5" barrel, 14 1/4" length of pull, 2 3/4" chamber, Prince of Wales round knob stock, fixed modified choke, and original FN butt plate! An additional butt plate and a Browning hard case is also included.

As seen in the photos, the receiver is completely blank other than the serial number seen on the bottom. From our research, we learned that guns that were imported by Browning Arms diverged from the sequential serial numbering a few years after WWII. World Market guns distributed by FN changed to a simpler system a few years later. The year of manufacturer was stamped in small font ahead of the serial number. In our example, "66" reflects 1966 as the year of production.

The FN Automatic 5, most often Auto-5 or simply A-5, is a recoil-operated semi-automatic shotgun designed by John Browning. It was the first successful semi-automatic shotgun design, and remained in production until 1998. The name of the shotgun designates that it is an autoloader with a capacity of five rounds, four in the magazine and one in the chamber.
