GENUINE Colt Model 1861 Navy Conversion Revolver – .36 Cal – Richards-Mason

This is a no reserve penny auction for a Colt Model 1861 Navy Conversion revolver in .36 Caliber. Serial number- 15381. This revolver is in fair condition with some anticipated patina and blemishes for a civil war-era revolver. It has a great bore for its age, with sharp, distinct lands all the way down. It features ivory grips and a silver plated brass trigger guard (the left side grip has two pieces broken off). According to Colt's serial number lookup, this revolver was manufactured in 1863. Like its forerunner, the Colt 1851 Navy Revolver, it saw widespread use in the American Civil War and on the American Western frontier, though far fewer were produced. It has the same general specification as the earlier model, but with a rounded barrel, and an ejector rod (instead of a loading lever), and a cartridge cylinder conversion, allowing it to rear-load metallic cartridges. Please see photos for exact condition, and to fully appreciate! Please Note: the action is locked up, and the barrel wedge is frozen with rust.
