Marlin Model No. 42 – 12 Gauge – Exposed Hammer – Low Serial!
This is a no reserve penny auction for a Marlin Model 42 pump-action shotgun in 12 Gauge. Serial number – 3180. This Model 42 is in overall good condition with a good bore! The Marlin Model No. 42 was manufactured between 1922-1939, and very few – especially with such a low serial number – are still in existence! With such a low Serial, it's possible that this shotgun is over 100 Years old! This Shotgun has a 30" barrel with a 13¾" LoP and a bead front sight.
Please Note: This shotgun SHOULD NOT be fired until it has been inspected by a Professional Gunsmith. The action doesn't cycle after the trigger is pulled, you must depress the slide release button to unlock the action; the toe of the stock is cracked and broken as is the butt plate at the toe. There is also minor pitting inside the bore. This shotgun has finish wear consistent with age and use. Please see the photos to assess the condition of the shotgun for yourself.
