Mauser 98 – 8mm – 1935 – S/243 G Borsigwalde 98K – K98 – SS Trophy – RARE!!

This is a no reserve penny auction for a Mauser Borsigwalde K98 bolt-action rifle in 8mm Mauser. Serial number- 3735. This K98 is in great condition for its age and has a good to fair bore (appears to have some build up). This rifle has ordnance marks on the top that indicates Mauser Borsigwalde – 1935. A total of only 7000 were made with these stamps! The second variant of SS rifles were marked SSZZA4 which were reworks from regular K98 rifles. This K98 is mostly a numbers-matching rifle to include the stock! The bolt and magazine floor plate have non-matching numbers. The unfortunate part is the stock was trimmed down to give it a more "sporty" look. K98 is an abbreviation for Karabiner 98k, a German bolt action rifle. It was the standard infantry rifle of the German army from 1898 until 1935, when it was replaced by the Karabiner 98k. The Gewher 98 was first introduced in 1898 and was immediately adopted by the German army. It remained the standard infantry rifle of the German army until 1935 when it was replaced by the more modern and shorter Karabiner 98k.
