Mauser Chileno Modelo 1895 Short – 7x57mm – Loewe Berlin – Bayonet!

This is a no-reserve penny auction for a Mauser Chileno Modelo 1895 short bolt-action rifle in 7x57mm. Serial number-C6028. This rifle is in good overall condition with a good bore that has some frosting present. This Mauser comes with the original barrel bands, an internal magazine spring and follower, and sights. The Chilean Mauser Model 1895 Short Rifle, known as the "mosqueton." This antique rifle features a 21.25-inch barrel, an overall length of 41.2 inches, and is chambered in 7×57mm Mauser. Produced between 1895-1900 by Loewe Berlin, it showcases the Chilean Crest on the receiver and serial number markings throughout, along with Chilean proofs, including crossed hammers and circled X stampings.

The hardwood stock has typical wear but is in good condition with a 13 ¼ inch LOP. The metal buttplate and stock hardware exhibit light surface wear and oxidation. Features include a bent bolt handle, left-mounted sling swivels, and an included cleaning rod and period correct bayonet! This rifle represents a significant piece of Chilean military history.
