RARE CLEAN Imperial Tokyo Gas & Electric Navy Model Papa Nambu – 8mm – C

This is a no reserve penny auction for a Tokyo Gas & Electric Navy Model Papa Nambu semi-automatic pistol in 8x22mm Nambu. Serial number – 440. This pistol comes with 1 magazine.

For the elite collector of Japanese militaria or early automatic handguns, this is not just a firearm—it is an investment-grade historical treasure.

This spectacular, museum-quality Tokyo Gas & Electric (TGE) "Papa" Nambu (Type A Modified) is a first-year production, ultra-early Navy contract piece that checks every single box a serious collector dreams of finding.

Spectacular 3-Digit Serial Number (#440). TGE began its limited production run under license in 1909 starting at serial number 1. At serial number 440, this is an incredibly rare, first-year survivor from the very dawn of the Navy's procurement contract.

Factory-Matching Internals: In an era where wartime field-stripping and postwar occupation cleanup jumbled parts, this pistol is a breathtaking exception. From the barrel extension, bolt, locking block, and trigger linkage, all the way down to the rear sight, every single hand-fitted part carries its matching factory numbers #440. (Except the firing pin guide rod – 2653)

Crisp, Pristine Markings – The highly coveted, circled "TGE" chamber monogram is flawlessly sharp, free of the typical holster wear or pitting. The iconic 「陸式」 ("Army Type") and 「南部式」 ("Nambu Type") Kanji stamps are deep, crisp, and beautifully preserved. The pistol retains a stunning amount of its deep, original factory rust-blue finish, contrasted beautifully by the surviving straw-colored heat treatment on the trigger, bolt lock, and release button. It comes equipped with its original, period-correct braided hemp and cotton swiveling lanyard, an incredibly scarce accessory to find intact and preserved in this condition.

Most Papa Nambus on the market today are mismatched, heavily worn, or show the harsh scars of active service. To find an ultra-early, 3-digit, nearly all-matching TGE Navy contract specimen in this state of preservation is a once-in-a-decade opportunity.

Please take a few moments to fully appreciate this gorgeous piece of history for yourself!
