This is a no reserve penny auction for a Remington Model 81 Woodsmaster semi-automatic rifle chambered in .35 Remington. Serial number- 19324. According to the date code, this Model 81 was manufactured in 1942! This rifle is in great condition with some minor dings and scratches and an incredible-looking bore! It comes with what we believe is a 5-round magazine. It also features a scope mount.

The Remington Model 81 is the younger brother of the Remington Model 8. It is really the same gun with a more robust pistol grip and forearm. Few know the importance of the Remington Model 8. It was the first successful high-powered semi-automatic rifle ever made in the world. It was designed in 1900 by John Browning and the design was made in Belgium and the United States, first in 1906. Production continued until the war department demand required Remington only produce military guns for WWII in mid-1942. After the war, production resumed in 1955.
