SCARCE Smith & Wesson Model 520 – .357 Mag – S&W N-Frame – 1 of 3000 – C

This is a no reserve penny auction for a Smith & Wesson Model 520 revolver in .357 Magnum. Serial number- N559632. This revolver is in great condition with an excellent bore. The Smith & Wesson Model 520 is a scarce and distinctive member of the legendary N-frame revolver family, chambered in .357 Magnum. Developed around 1980 for a potential New York State Police service revolver contract, the Model 520 combines the substantial frame of Smith & Wesson's large-frame revolvers with the versatility of the .357 Magnum cartridge. The contract did not come to fruition, and approximately 3,000 examples were produced, making the Model 520 a desirable variation among collectors of classic Smith & Wesson revolvers. This example, serial number N559632, appears to fall within the early production period, with serial-number references suggesting possible late 1979 manufacture ahead of the model's wider introduction. Its relative scarcity, unusual place in Smith & Wesson's history, and classic service-revolver styling make it an appealing addition to an N-frame collection.
