Steyr bnz Mauser Karabiner 98k – 8mm – 1942 – German WWII – All Matching

This is a no reserve penny auction for a Steyr bnz Karabiner Mauser 98k bolt-action rifle chambered in 8mm Mauser. Serial number- 4051. This rifle needs to be seen to be believed! It is in excellent condition with an incredible-looking bore. All serials are matching (See in Photos) and it comes with an original leather sling and front sight/muzzle protector.

Note: There are no import marks so it made its way to the United States pre-1968s when import marks were required. That being said, due to the condition, matching serials, and no import marks we believe this rifle was a war trophy that was brought back by an American soldier. The receiver has a bnz 42 Steyr ordnance code stamp, and also 77 and WaA623 proof marks all over the rifle. The serial also does not have a prefix indicating it was manufactured in January 1942! It is incredibly rare and difficult to find a Steyr Karabiner 98K from this early in the war in this good of condition. This is a scarce opportunity to add one of these collector-grade rifles to a collection.

The Karabiner 98k was a shortened version of the Mauser 98 used by the German Army during WWI. It served as the standard-issue rifle for the German Army through most of WWII until production shifted to building the Stg 44 at the end of the war.
