This is a no reserve penny auction for a Thompson Center Hawken Flintlock muzzleloader in .50 BP. Serial number- K235552. This rifle is in fair condition and has a good working lock. There is rust present in the bore and it is missing the sights, ramrod thimbles and the ram rod is not original. Comes with misc parts. Please refer to photos as to overall condition. The Hawken rifle is generally shorter and of a larger caliber than earlier Kentucky Rifles. It was popular in the mid-nineteenth century. The term "Hawken rifle" technically referred to rifles made by Jacob and Samuel Hawken of St Louis, Missouri but was often used generically to refer to a variety of "plains rifles" of the period.
