Winchester 1894 & Colt Single Action Army Commemorative Set – .44-40 Win -C

This is a no reserve penny auction for a Winchester Colt Commemorative Set 1894 lever-action rifle and Single Action Army revolver both chambered in .44-40 Winchester. Serial number – 1029WC.

This rifle and revolver are in Great Overall Condition – The 1894 has a 20" barrel with and Amazing Bore and the SAA has a 7.5" barrel with a good bore. Minor rust and pitting is seen inside the bore of the SAA, and rust is seen on the mag tube of the 94.

This is the Winchester / Colt Commemorative Match Set, produced jointly in 1983–1984. It honors the historical partnership of the two legendary American firearms manufacturers whose rifles and revolvers became known as "the guns that won the West". Both firearms are chambered in .44-40 Winchester WCF. In the 1870s/1880s, sharing the same caliber between a cowboy's rifle and handgun allowed them to carry a single type of ammunition for both.

Featuring highly polished blued finish with 18-karat gold inlay and floral scrollwork.
– Winchester Rifle: Left side features the classic Winchester horse and rider emblem along with the "WC" monogram; right side features a portrait of Oliver F. Winchester and the original New Haven factory.
– Colt SAA Revolver: Features case-hardened frame, gold-etched Colt logo, factory image, and the signature of Col. Sam Colt on the backstrap.
Sets were issued with matching "WC" suffix serial numbers – 1029WC
– Presented in a solid oak fitted display case lined in deep red velvet, with dedicated cutouts for both firearms, and a set of commemorative key/locks – Although serialized gilt medallions were originally with the set and there are cut-out for them, they are not included.
