Winchester Model 1895 – .30-40 Krag – MFG 1901 – 30 Army – M95 – C
This is a no-reserve penny auction for a Winchester Model 1895 lever-action rifle in .30 US/.30-40 Krag. Serial number – 30126. This rifle is in great overall condition for its age with an excellent bore. After running a serial number lookup, we've determined it was manufactured in 1901. It features a Redfield rear peep sight, crescent butt-plate, and 28" barrel.
Designed by John Moses Browning, the 1895 was a revolutionary departure for Winchester because it used a non-detachable box magazine instead of a tube. This allowed it to safely fire powerful, pointed (spitzer) bullets like the .30-06, which would have been dangerous in a tube magazine.
Please refer to the photos as a small crack is seen on the end of the forend.
