Winchester Model 1895 Deluxe Takedown – .30-06 SPRG – MFG 1926 – Lyman – C

This is a no-reserve penny auction for a Winchester Model 1895 Deluxe Takedown lever-action rifle in .30-06 Springfield. Serial number – 418442. This rifle is 100 years old! The manufactured in 1926. This 1895 is in Amazing Condition for its age and the Bore is in Fantastic Condition! Featuring a Vintage "Climbin' Lyman" Lyman No. 21 receiver sight – specifically designed for the Winchester Model 1895!

Designed by John Moses Browning, the 1895 was a revolutionary departure for Winchester because it used a non-detachable box magazine instead of a tube. This allowed it to safely fire powerful, pointed (spitzer) bullets like the .30-06, which would have been dangerous in a tube magazine.

Takedown models are a different breed. The ability to flip a lever and split the rifle in two for easy transport was a luxury feature in 1926.

Most 1895s you find have been "upgraded" with modern parts that ruin the value. You are looking at a time capsule. The Lyman No. 21 "Climbin' Lyman" rear sight, the Lyman 17A Globe front sight, and the Marble's Slot Blank are the exact professional setup a high-stakes hunter or marksman would have demanded in 1926. It is ballistically and historically perfect.

The metal wears an honest patina. The wood-to-metal fit is tight, the stampings are sharp enough to cut paper, and the Nickel Steel barrel is ready for another century of service. This is the kind of rifle that doesn't just hold its value—it appreciates every year as these "untouched" examples disappear into private museums.

Owning a Model 1895 is owning the "Big Medicine" history of Teddy Roosevelt, but owning a Deluxe Takedown in .30-06 is owning the refined, pinnacle version of that legend. It’s rugged enough for the Yukon but beautiful enough for a mahogany-walled library.
