Manufactured in 1911, this Model 1897 is in good condition with a great bore for its age! It features a 30" barrel with a fixed full choke and a 14" length of pull. The Winchester Model 1897 is a legendary American shotgun designed by John Browning. The Model 1897 was a superior slide-action exposed hammer shotgun that was specifically designed for the new smokeless powder. Winchester manufactured just over one million Model 1897 shotguns, with production taking place from July 1897 to September 1957. The 1897 was used in the US military during WWI and WWII, where it became notorious for its slam firing ability. Whether in the hands of a soldier or hunter the Winchester Model 1897 has made its mark on American history. Slam fire capable!
