Winchester Model 1906 Takedown – .22 S/L/LR – 1927 – Lyman Peep Sight – C
This is a no reserve penny auction for a Winchester Model 1906 pump-action rifle in .22 S/L/LR. Serial number – 645586. This rifle is in Great Condition with an Amazing Bore! According to Winchester serial numbers, we believe this rifle was manufactured in 1927. A Lyman No. 2 Combination Tang Sight, stamped WS (Winchester Special) on the underside is included! It was favored by target shooters because the larger disc helps block out distracting light and helps the eye focus naturally on the front sight.
The Winchester Model 1906 (often simply called the Model 06), a classic slide-action / pump-action .22 caliber rimfire rifle. Designed by the legendary John Browning, it was produced by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company between 1906 and 1935. Commonly known as a "Gallery Gun" or "Boy’s Rifle," it was designed as a more affordable, lightweight alternative to the earlier Winchester Model 1890. A total production of around 729,305 of these rifles were built. The Model 06 is highly collectible today, though many were "loved to death" in shooting galleries or by young hunters. Note: the Stock has an engraving just behind the lower tang. This rifle has minor finish wear consistent with its age – 99 years! – and use. Please see the photos to assess the condition of the rifle for yourself.
