Zastava M48 – 8mm Mauser – XLNT w/ Bayonet & MORE – Yugo Model 48 – C

This is a no reserve penny auction for a Zastava M48 bolt action rifle in 8mm Mauser. Serial number – 45904. This M48 is in great condition for its age and features a 23.5" barrel with a great bore. It includes a box (not original to gun), bayonet with scabbard, sling, cleaning tools, cartridge pouches, and leather bayonet carrier. All visible serials appear to be matching. Features include a Yugoslav crest stamp and the Preduzece 44 (original Zastava name) stamp on the receiver. The Zastava M48 is a post World War II Yugoslav version of the German Karabiner 98k designed by Mauser and the Belgian designed M24 series. It was the standard service rifle of the Yugoslav People's Army from the early 1950s until its replacement by the Zastava M59/66, a licensed copy of the Soviet SKS semiautomatic carbine, in the early 1960s. A classic and reliable Mauser type rifle that would look great in any collection!
