For sale is a Colt Detective Special revolver in .38 Spl. Serial number- 53843R. This revolver is in great condition and comes with the original box, manual, service/warranty paperwork, and safety manual. The Colt Detective Special was first produced in 1927 and last produced in 1995. A derivative of the old Colt Police Positive, it was produced to meet the market demand for a gun that was easily concealed. Detective Specials were manufactured from 1973 to 1986 in .38 Special only. These third variation models introduced the full shrouded ejector rod.
