For sale is a Montana Rifle Company Model 1999 bolt action rifle in .416 Remington Magnum. Serial number- C05-0300. This rifle is in excellent condition. This rifle features a 24" heavy stainless steel barrel, and a beautiful factory engraved walnut stock. The .416 Remington Magnum cartridge is intended as a dangerous game hunting cartridge and was released to the public in 1989. The Model 1999 looks like a Winchester Model 70, but it’s actually a hybrid incorporating safety features–such as the elimination of extractor cuts and cone breeching in the barrel, which promotes strength–found on the Model 98 Mauser action. It retains the original Model 70 trigger, which is the best ever made for a sporting rifle, and can take scope bases made for the Model 70. Also features a flat-bottom design with a massive recoil lug.
