For sale is a Ruger 44 Carbine semi-automatic rifle in .44 Mag. Serial number – 102-91004. Mfg. 1962 This carbine has some scratches and dings on the barrel, stock, and receiver but overall it is in good condition. This 44 carbine was designed as a close-range carbine for deer hunting in dense woods, Ruger released the Model 44 Carbine in 1961 as the "Deerstalker", a moniker it used until 1962 due to a lawsuit brought by the Ithaca Gun Company forcing Ruger to drop the moniker. This rifle does not have the "Deer Stalker moniker but was manufactured the same year as the Ithaca lawsuit. Meaning this was one of the first carbines made after the lawsuit. The Ruger makes for a great day out on the range.
