The Model 1899 is considered one of the best and most dependable lever-action hunting rifles ever made. The internal rotary magazine was ahead of its time and allowed the lever-action to fire more accurate pointed bullets rather than flat-nosed ammunition other lever-action rifles had to use due to their tubular magazines.
