Due to the popularity of the .45 ACP cartridge, the 4500s were a large series that consisted of eighteen variants. The Smith & Wesson 4505 is the blued finish, carbon steel variant of the stainless steel Smith & Wesson 4506. Produced only from 1990-1991 with approximately 1200 made.
