Original Designer: Carl Walther Waffenfabrik
Catalyst for Manufacture: The PPK failed to meet the import requirements of the Gun Control Act of 1968. Consequently, Walther designed the barrel and slide of PPK/S and married it to the PP frame to pass the importation requirements of the time.
