Arisaka Type 38 Carbine – 6.5mm
$699.00
For sale is an Arisaka Type 38 Carbine bolt-action rifle in 6.5mm. Serial number – 80857. This Arisaka still has the chrysanthemum and Japanese Type 38 stamped on the top of the receiver. On the left side of the receiver wall, there is a Nagoya Arsenal stamp and the kana (located just in front of the serial number) indicates it was a 4th series production. The carbine is in good overall condition considering its age but it is starting to get some finish wear and some very minor surface rust on the top of the receiver. There is also a crack or deep scratch on stock wrapping around the grip and reaching to the magazine base plate. Please see the photos to determine the condition yourself.
This Type 38 carbine was produced sometime before WWII and was likely used in one or more of the many conflicts Japan was involved in leading up to WWII. Due to the presence of the chrysanthemum, there is a good chance this was a war trophy sent back to the United States. Most, if not all Post War Arisaka bring backs, had the Chrysanthemum filed off. The Arisaka Type 38 carbine is a short version of the Type 38 rifle and was designed in 1905 as a result of the experience gained in the Russo-Japanese War. It has many features of the German Mauser G98 action and was one of the standard weapons used by the Japanese military forces during the Second World War. V1-A2 Barrel Length: 19 Bore condition: Good
Serial Number: 80857
