One of the things that is a bit confusing is that the US importers put names on the guns that was different from the Beretta offerings elsewhere. The most common "import name" was the Silver Hawk. That name was created by the importer from the late 1950's to the early 1960's, who was Galef. The Silver Hawk is a standardized version of the Beretta 409. Beretta in producing the Silver Hawk they sought to provide for a variety of tastes and yet create a series of shotguns that were lively and instinctive to shoot.
