Ready for sale is an H&R The American Double Action revolver in .38 S&W. Serial number- 6143. The nickel finish is still in good condition and the serial is low! The cylinder lock-up is not good and the bore is in fair condition with some pitting. The American Double Action was offered in .32, .38, or .44 centerfire double-action revolver, 2.5", 4.5" or 6" round or octagonal barrel, 5- or 6-shot fluted cylinder (850,000 made between 1883 and 1940) That means 57 years of production. If you divide 57 into 850,000 that is over 14912 a year. This one could easily be a first or second year of production! However, we cannot confirm with certainty the mfg date of this revolver so we will require an FFL transfer.
