For sale is a Springfield Model 1898 Sporter bolt-action rifle in .30-40 Krag. Serial number- 441251. This is a sporterized Krag that features a Monte Carlo-style stock. PLEASE NOTE: There is a crack in the foregrip of the stock. This rifle comes with a vintage Redfield peep sight. This rifle was sporterized for hunting and after running a serial number lookup, we believe this rifle was manufactured in 1903. The Krag Model 1898 Rifle was the first smokeless powder repeating firearm adopted by the United States.
