This Model 1897 is in good condition for its age and features a 26" barrel with a fixed cylinder bore. Features a corncob style forend and a round knob grip. The Winchester Model 1897 is a legendary American shotgun designed by John Browning. The Model 1897 was a superior slide-action exposed hammer shotgun that was specifically designed for the new smokeless powder. Winchester manufactured just over one million Model 1897 shotguns, with production taking place from July 1897 to September 1957. The 1897 was used in the US military during WWI and WWII, where it became notorious for its slam firing ability.
