For sale is a Winchester Model 42 pump-action shotgun in .410 gauge. Serial number- 10570. According to Winchester's records this Model 42 was manufactured in 1934 meaning it was made in only the 2nd year of this model's production run. This Model 42 is in good condition and features a 26 inch barrel with a 3 inch chamber and a cylinder choke. The Winchester Model 42 was the first pump action shotgun designed to use the .410 bore cartridge, and is essentially a scaled down version of the classic Model 12. Marketed as "Everybody’s Sweetheart," as well as "The Greatest Little Shotgun in the World," the sleek, racy, fast-handling Model 42 was a hit with upland hunters and skeet shooters and continues to be popular with collectors. 164,800 Model 42s produced between 1933 and 1963 until Winchester discontinued production in preparation for the 1964 company restructuring. Please refer to the photos as there is some rust along the barrel and a little wear on the receiver.
