This is a no reserve penny auction for a Mauser 98K bolt-action rifle in 8mm Mauser. Serial number- 2764. This sporterized rifle is in fair condition and is dated 1943. The receiver is marked "bdc" indicating that it was made by the Gustloff Werke in Weimar, Germany in 1943. The barrel is marked "ch4". The bore is good for the age of this mil-surp with sharp, well defined lands. Please Note: The safety on this rifle is missing and the serials do not match. The Mauser was adopted on 21 June 1935 as the standard service rifle by the German Wehrmacht. It was one of the final developments in the long line of Mauser military rifles.
