Winchester Model 1897 RIOT – 12ga – MFG in 1908 – CYL-Choke – Model 97 –

This is a no reserve penny auction for a Winchester Model 1897 pump-action shotgun in 12ga. Serial number-384887. This shotgun has a Cylinder choke and we are unsure of the chamber length. We belive it is considered the RIOT version with the 20" Barrel. This firearm also looks to have been manufactured in 1908. Please refer to photos as there is some blemishes on the wood and metal. The Model 1897 was a superior slide-action exposed hammer shotgun that was specifically designed for the new smokeless powder. Winchester manufactured just shy of one million Model 1897 shotguns, with the production taking place from July 1897 to September 1957. The Model 1897 was an improved redesign of the older Model 1893.
