Colt 1860 Army .44 Cal

Colt 1860 Army .44 Cal

$1,399.00

For sale is a Colt 1860 Army black powder revolver in .44 cal. Serial number-121348. After running a serial number lookup, we've determined this particular firearm was manufactured in 1863. Please note this revolver is missing the loading lever assembly and the wedge – Also, the cylinder is seized and will not rotate. The finish appears to be original, however the pistol grip (which has some dings) appears to have been varnished at some point. The butt strap, trigger guard, receiver, and barrel all have the matching serial number 121348 (manufactured 1863). Please note that the dividing wall of the 6' o'clock cylinder bore appears to be distorted. The arbor and cylinder show rusting, as do the nipples and forcing cone. The rifling in the barrel still seems to be sharp, considering the age of this gun. There is a "T" stamped into the brass behind the trigger guard. "COLTS PATENT" is still visible on the left side of the receiver. The top of the barrel roll mark is visible and reads, "ADDRESS COL SAML COLT NEW YORK U.S. AMERICA". The Navel scene on the cylinder is worn off and there is screw missing for the trigger guard. This would make a great foundation for a restoration project of the most prolific gun in U.S. history.
