DWM 1914 Artillery Luger – 9mm – Mfg 1917

$4,499.00

For sale is a DWM 1917 Artillery Luger semi-automatic pistol in 9mm. Serial number- 3381. This pistol is in fantastic condition and comes with a wood bottom magazine (Serial does not match). This is a 1917-dated Imperial DWM Luger with all visible serial numbers matching except on the magazine. This is a 1914 Model, and is a chamber-dated 1917 DWM 8" model with the 800-meter adjustable rear sight mounted on the barrel. The 1917 Chamber Date is one of the most difficult Artillery models to find in this pristine condition. The original intent was to issue the 8" weapon to gun boat crews but it then became standard issue to machine gun crews and artillery units to protect the gunner and support crew while the team set up the Machine gun or artillery battery. Many of the Artillery Lugers had stocks that could be attached the grip with the intent of turning the pistol into a carbine. This concept was evolved from the earlier Mauser C96 Broomhandle pistols that could attach a stock. It is very difficult to obtain, full rig dated DWM 1917 in excellent condition with all the basic Imperial proofs.
