For sale is a Lee Enfield No5 MK1 ROF (Royal Ordnance Factory) Jungle Carbine bolt action rifle in .303 British. There is no serial number. Manufactured in 1944. This Enfield shows natural service type wear and looks to have been refinished at some point. A rubber butt pad has been added to this rifle. This rifle features a 20" barrel and has a 1944 date stamp on the receiver. This rifle looks to have seen some action and would make a good addition to any WWII rifle collection. Please note the magazine is not an original Enfield magazine and the bore is in poor condition. The Rifle No. 5 Mk I, was a derivative of the British Lee–Enfield No. 4 Mk I. Following experience of jungle fighting in the Pacific War the British came to the conclusion "that a rifle shorter and lighter than the standard issue, No. 4 rifle was required."
